quit scratching your axehole

somehow my refrigerator thinks that it is a freezer. here are ways you can tell if yours is crazy too.

1. eggs don't crack, they make a thudding noise on the counter
2. cream doesn't pour
3. room temperature icing instantly turns rock hard on the cake.
4. coke cans look like this (yes this is upside down because the bottom became convex):

mamsis got her easter package. some cookies were broken, others seemed smushed even though i thought i had done a good job packaging them. this is what they are supposed to look like. hopefully mom can use her imagination.

they were termites, or dalmations

josh was tired of vacuuming with our old vacuum, so i finally let him get a dyson. we had to get one that was specially formulated to pick up dog hair. josh went over the floor twice, and to my suprise, it wasn't made of hair. there was some carpet left. i haven't been able to use it, but josh seems to like it. it hasn't clogged up or lost suction, as promised
we got new sheets on friday, and i feel like all i've been doing is washing sheets. i washed the new ones, then i had to wash the old ones, then i thought i'd change the guest room sheets, too. but my new sheets are so soft and comfy, just like sleeping on a t-shirt.
i've been practicing my cake decorating techniques, and i can't tell if i'm getting better, but i like to think that i am. hopefully i will have drop flowers perfected for saturday.

a wedding and mario kart

my friend wendy told me on sunday that she had set a date for her wedding. it was yesterday. she also told me that she was going to wear jeans. this would not do. after work on wednesday another tech and i took her shopping at kohls to find a nice dress for her to wear. i found a nice pink one that she didn't hate, so that's what she wore. her mom thanked me for kidnapping her and i felt as though i really did some good.
i also decided that she needed a reception, so we are planning a party for her next week. i am to make the cake. i've been practicing my decorating technique and going through my recipes for something delectable.
after shopping, i had some friends over for dinner and to play mario kart. wendy brought over her daughter and so i got to play with her. she would crawl over to zelda's bed and lay her head on it. once she even fluffed it before plopping down and sucking her thumb. she was fascinated by the dog and didn't even cry when zelda licked her. i'll have to have them over again for a rematch.

everyone should have a josh

on friday night when i got home from work, josh had dinner ready and we ate out on the balcony. the weather has been really nice, warm but not too hot. and cool at night so we can have the windows open and hear the coyotes better.
saturday we went to the melting pot, a fondue restaurant in Littleton, to celebrate our one year anniversary. there were roses on the table when we got there, a service that they provide for their customers. the food was really good and it was fun to eat. we had swiss cheese fondue and the waiter was trying to convince us that apples and cheese are a good combination. then we had tuna, shrimp, chicken, steak and lobster to cook in hot broth. the lobster tails were served sitting on top of the empty shells. it was strange to see the pink tuna turn white and the white lobster and shrimp turn pink after only a few seconds in the broth. one problem was that you only got a few pieces of meat, but six sauces so you couldn't put each sauce on a piece of chicken, unless you cut the chicken in tiny pieces. the chocolate course was by far my favorite. they have about seven choices and also a create your own (milk, dark or white with your choice of liquer). i'll have to go again so i can have all the different types of chocolate. it would be a good place for visitors to go (come visit me!)

jungle red

Yesterday i went out to lunch with a friend from work. after lunch, we didn't have anything else to do, so we decided to get manicures. i've never has a manicure, so it was a new experience for me. the first think she said to me was 'what color?' and i really wanted to say 'jungle red' like mary haynes in 'the women' but i just decided to get a french manicure. i was the only person in the salon that had real nails, everyone else was getting acrylics. but i got a hand massage, and she clipped/ripped off my cuticles, and gave me a very nice set of polished nails. i just hope this lasts longer than the usual three days.
